Riverview has a vision to reach the city of Mazatlan, Mexico for Jesus. We seek to do this by focusing on the thousands of abandoned or orphaned children who live daily with little material or spiritual hope. Our goal is to reach every child God brings into our path by helping to meet their personal needs, developing a long-term relationship with them, and supporting their spiritual growth so that they may establish a personal relationship with Jesus.
The RivMX 5K 2012: Run for los Ninos
The Riv MX 5K Run/Walk/Kids’ Fun Run is Friday, June 15 at 7:00 pm.
- Pre-registration race fee (before June 1): $20/person (includes a race T-shirt)
- Late registration fee (after June 1): $25/person (does not include a T-shirt)
- Children under 12 are FREE (Kid’s T-shirts can be ordered by June 1 for $10)
- Bib pick-up is from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm on Friday, June 15
- Can't make it? No problem, you can still support the cause and run or walk wherever you are on June 15! And if you pre-register by June 1 and post your race time on the Facebook event wall, we’ll even ship you a T-shirt. Just give us your shipping address when you pre-register.

Why We Do This:
At Riv, we take Jesus’ command to “go” and share His compassion with the world seriously. Most of the time, this takes place in everyday occurrences — over coffee with a friend, at our kids’ baseball games, or while trying to meet a deadline at work. But we also have the opportunity to share Jesus’ love with orphaned and abandoned children in Mazatlan, Mexico through a partnership with Back2Back Ministries.
Our goal is to assist Mexican nationals in providing both immediate (food, clothing, shelter, and protection) and long-term (education, job training, and role modeling) solutions for these children, with the ultimate hope that they may establish a personal relationship with Jesus. As we help provide a platform for kids to overcome significant physical and emotional losses, we find that there are many opportunities to share God’s offer of spiritual healing as well.
100% of net proceeds from the RivMX 5K 2012 will help with orphan care in the Mazatlan area.
Mission Trips to Mazatlan, Mexico
There are several opportunities each year for people to go on a week-long mission trip to Mazatlan in partnership with Back2Back Ministries. We’d love for every single person who attends Riverview to consider going at least once. We want these short-term mission trips to achieve the most long-term impact possible and bring lasting hope to Mexico.Providing "Care for Today, Hope for Tomorrow" is the mission of Back2Back Ministries. This organization serves to come alongside orphanages and impoverished communities in order to provide both physical and spiritual support.
If you choose to go on one of the RivMexico trips, you will spend time with orphans who are in great need of adult interaction. (Don't worry, you don't need to speak Spanish, the language for these kids is “play.”) You will also get to participate in some work projects that will help improve their quality of life. Your accommodations for the week may be humble, but will also be very functional and secure. There will also be free time built in to the schedule.

New Summer Trip Opening

The June mission trip to Mazatlan was so popular that we've decided to add another trip over the summer! The new trip is from June 30-July 6, 2012. Click here to apply for this or any of the other trips. The MSU Spring Break trip is full, but there's still plenty of room on the February 25-March 2 guys' only work trip and the May 5-11 trip. We're excited to announce that we're partnering with Back2Back Ministries to serve orphans in Mazatlan, Mexico! We are sending teams of about thirty people each in February, March, April, May, June, October, and December of 2012.
We will answer any and all questions you may have at one of two info meetings this weekend. The first is after the Saturday 7:00ish pm service (at 8:30 ish pm on Saturday, September 24) and the other is after the Sunday 11:30ish am service (at 1:00ish on Sunday, September 25) in Room 201.
