SCHEDULE:
9:00 - 9:45 am: Main Session 1 — "Grow, Serve, and Go: All of the Above," by Noel Heikkinen
If you've been around Riv for very long, you know that our mission is to make sacrificial followers of Jesus who grow, serve, and go. And you've probably heard a teaching on what it looks like to do each of those things. But why those three things? In this session, you'll learn why these actions are part of our mission statement and why having all three in place is essential to being a sacrificial follower of Jesus.
9:45 - 10:00 am: Coffee Break!
10:00 am - 12:45 pm: Ministry Training Sessions and Lunch
This LEAD event will feature practical training sessions for volunteers serving in various areas of ministry at Riv. This includes Life Group leaders and volunteers with RivKids, Chaos, The Element, Epic, and the Welcome Team. If you're not currently serving in one of these areas, we ask that you consider attending a training and plugging in with that ministry.
We are also offering an extended version of the "Decision Making and God's Will" class and a session on "Building Relational Communication Skills" for those who choose not to attend a ministry training session.
There will be a separate session for those currently involved in an active church plant.
12:45 - 1:00 pm: Coffee Break!
1:00 - 2:00 pm: Main Session 2 — "Worship and Response"
Worship is simply our response to God, and is something that should be exhibited in every aspect of a Christian's life. During this closing session, we'll take some time to worship God through music, remember Jesus' sacrifice for us through communion, and pray.

Elder and Church Planter Process
Posted on Saturday, Feb 20, 2010
The local church, as described in the New Testament, was always led by a team of elders (also known as pastors, overseers, or shepherds). Riverview functions in the same way, with a team of pastors who work together to lead the church. New church plants from Riverview are either led by a team of elders or are assigned elders from Riverview until such time that local elders can be recognized.
Men who are interested in serving as a pastor at Riv or leading a church plant from Riv are encouraged to download and read the following documents that describe the process he must go through. Please direct any questions you have to the pastor you work most closely with.
