As the REO Town Venue Director, Hezekiah Trevino is the guy who makes sure everything at Riv’s downtown Lansing location runs smoothly. From overseeing Sunday services to managing the behind-the-scenes logistics that make ministry happen, Hezekiah is all about creating a welcoming space where people can encounter Jesus and grow in their faith.
Hezekiah grew up in the church—his dad and grandfather were both pastors—but it wasn’t until he was about 15 that his faith became personal. That’s when he started reading the Bible for himself and began intentionally pursuing a relationship with Jesus. Since then, Proverbs 3:5–6 has been his anchor: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and He will make your paths straight.” It’s a constant reminder that faith isn’t about figuring everything out—it’s about trusting the One who already has.
Outside of church, Hezekiah is usually doing one of two things: playing guitar for bands and festivals around Lansing, or hanging out at home with his family (introvert life is real). He’s also a self-proclaimed foodie with current obsessions including Tantay’s Peruvian cuisine and Korean BBQ at K-Pot. He loves fashion, shoes, and hats—so much so that very few people have ever seen him without one.
Hezekiah first visited Riv in 2019, did a stint at another church, and returned in 2022 for the Pastoral Residency. Since then, he’s been part of the team, helping lead others while continuing to grow in his own faith and leadership. If you ever want to talk church, music, or why Nacho Libre is an underrated masterpiece, he’s your guy.
