The Old Testament book of Joshua recounts the Israelite’s journey as they follow their new leader Joshua after the death of Moses. An entire generation was buried in the sand behind them and they stand on the edge of the land God has promised them. God had proved his faithfulness in the past by providing for them and leading them through the wilderness but this is a whole new challenge.
This group of nomads is facing strong armies and fortified cities and trusting God to follow through. What do you do when facing opposition in life? Where do you turn when you are drawn to the things of this life rather than the truth of Scripture?
Can you rest in the assurance of God’s past faithfulness to trust that He will fulfill His promises in your future?
As we study through the book of Joshua, we’ll be challenged to overlay our life and experiences with God’s commands and promises.
