Biblically Holistic and Humble

Evil people and impostors will become worse, deceiving and being deceived.

2 Timothy 3:13

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed. You know those who taught you, and you know that from infancy you have known the sacred Scriptures, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 3:14-15

I recall your sincere faith that first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and now, I am convinced, is in you also.

2 Timothy 1:5

Hold on to the pattern of sound teaching that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 1:13

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed. You know those who taught you, and you know that from infancy you have known the sacred Scriptures, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 3:14-15

For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. No creature is hidden from him, but all things are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give an account.

Hebrews 4:12-13

For just as rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return there without saturating the earth and making it germinate and sprout, and providing seed to sow and food to eat, so my word that comes from my mouth will not return to me empty, but it will accomplish what I please and will prosper in what I send it to do.

Isaiah 55:10-11

All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

I solemnly charge you before God and Christ Jesus, who is going to judge the living and the dead, and because of his appearing and his kingdom: Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and encourage with great patience and teaching. For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, will multiply teachers for themselves because they have an itch to hear what they want to hear. They will turn away from hearing the truth and will turn aside to myths.

2 Timothy 4:1-4

Flee from youthful passions, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. But reject foolish and ignorant disputes, because you know that they breed quarrels. The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but must be gentle to everyone, able to teach, and patient, instructing his opponents with gentleness. Perhaps God will grant them repentance leading them to the knowledge of the truth. Then they may come to their senses and escape the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

2 Timothy 2:22-26

The Bible is inspired by God and is the highest authority over all other forms of revelation. We approach it with humility toward God, the human authors, and other Christians with whom we may disagree. We patiently, gently, and humbly present the message of the Bible to a culture that may find its message irrelevant or offensive. As the living and breathing Word of God, we apply the whole Bible
to our whole selves and seek to live biblically faithful lives.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:1

Circular reasoning – a logical fallacy in which the reasoner begins with what they are trying to end with.

Self-authentication – the act of proving that something, usually a document, is genuine or true without the use of extrinsic evidence.

Sola Scripture – The belief that all truth necessary for our salvation and spiritual life is taught either explicitly or implicitly in Scripture. (Disclaimer: it is not a claim that all truth of every kind is found in Scripture.)

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:1

the Bible is a book filled with real, historical events, people, and stories.

There are thousands of ancient texts found that are similar to our modern day copies of the Bible.

Biblical writings and teachings were passed down from generation to generation.

Polycarp of Smyrna
– disciple of John
Ignatius of Antioch
– disciple of John
Clement of Rome
– disciple of Peter

All things were created through him, and apart from him not one thing was created that has been created. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. That light shines in the darkness, and yet the darkness did not overcome it.

John 1:3-5

He was in the world, and the world was created through him, and yet the world did not recognize him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, he gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in his name, who were born, not of natural descent, or of the will of the flesh, or of the will of man, but of God.

John 1:10-13

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. We observed his glory, the glory as the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1:14-15
