We don’t know everything.

Although I am free from all and not anyone’s slave, I have made myself a slave to everyone, in order to win more people. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win Jews; to those under the law, like one under the law — though I myself am not under the law  — to win those under the law. To those who are without the law, like one without the law — though I am not without God’s law but under the law of Christ — to win those without the law. To the weak I became weak, in order to win the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that I may by every possible means save some. Now I do all this because of the gospel, so that I may share in the blessings.

1 Corinthians 9:19-23

One of you says, “I belong to Paul,” or “I belong to Apollos,” or “I belong to Cephas,” or “I belong to Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in Paul’s name? I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, so that no one can say you were baptized in my name.

1 Corinthians 1:12-15

This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. They worship me in vain, teaching as doctrines human commands. ”

Matthew 15:8-9

They teach what men have made up. – NLV

Theory of Stupidity

Although I am free from all and not anyone’s slave, I have made myself a slave to everyone, in order to win more people.

1 Corinthians 9:19

To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win Jews; to those under the law, like one under the law — though I myself am not under the law  — to win those under the law. To those who are without the law, like one without the law — though I am not without God’s law but under the law of Christ — to win those without the law. To the weak I became weak, in order to win the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that I may by every possible means save some.

1 Corinthians 9:20-22

Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will convict the world about sin, righteousness, and judgment…

John 16:7-8

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30

The one who says he remains in him should walk just as he walked.

1 John 2:6

“Teacher, which command in the law is the greatest?” He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.”

Matthew 22:36-40

The easy yoke and burden of Jesus Christ is the supreme ethic of love.

It is only when we slow down our lives that we can catch up to God. – N.T. Wright

  • Take off your current yoke.
  • Put on Jesus’ yoke.
  • Slow down with Jesus.
  • Learn what it means to love God and love people.
  • Do exactly those things to love God and love people.

Advocates say they’ve noticed significant apathy and disengagement among the young adults they work with in thinking about their post-high school lives, the likely results of lingering trauma and isolation. – Newsweek Article

The year opened with a resounding, This? Still? Call it apathy, call it
indifference, call it the Great Whatever. It was the dominant vibe with which this year began. – Time Magazine 2022

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by God’s will: To the faithful saints in Christ Jesus at Ephesus. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens in Christ.

    Ephesians 1:1-3

This is why, since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I never stop giving thanks for you as I remember you in my prayers.

    Ephesians 1:15-16

“Write to the angel of the church in Ephesus: Thus says the one who holds the seven stars in his right hand and who walks among the seven golden lampstands: I know your works, your labor, and your endurance, and that you cannot tolerate evil people. You have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and you have found them to be liars. I know that you have persevered and endured hardships for the sake of my name, and you have not grown weary.

    Revelation 2:1-3

But I have this against you: You have abandoned the love you had at first.

    Revelation 2:4

One of the scribes approached. When he heard them debating and saw that Jesus answered them well, he asked him, “Which command is the most important of all?”  Jesus answered, “The most important is Listen, Israel! The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.

    Mark 12:28-30

“If you love me, you will keep my commands. The one who has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. And the one who loves me will be loved by my Father. I also will love him and will reveal myself to him…If anyone loves me, he will keep my word.”

    John 14:15,21,23

Though you have not seen him, you love him; though not seeing him now, you believe in him, and you rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy

    1 Peter 1:8

Remember then how far you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first.

    Revelation 2:5

Do you despise the riches of his kindness, restraint, and patience, not recognizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

    Romans 2:4

Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk — not as unwise people but as wise —  making the most of the time, because the days are evil. Be filled by the Spirit… giving thanks always for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

    Ephesians 5:15-16

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
