John 1:1-18

To consider with your Life Group:

  • Take a few minutes to review the Scripture, John 1:1-18. What verses or ideas stand out to you from these passages? What questions do you have? What would you like to remember and apply to your life?
  • How does John’s account of the birth of Jesus differ from the ones found in Matthew, Mark, and Luke? Why do you think John chose to present the details the way he did?
  • Talk about when you first believed in Jesus and received Him as your Savior.
  • The Christmas season can be bittersweet for many people. Share some examples of struggles you, or those close to you, have faced and how the holiday season has served as a reminder. What unique opportunities does this season present for you to live with grace and truth and invite others to believe in Jesus and trust in Him?
  • P.S. Be sure to have a conversation about favorite Christmas movies with your fellow Life Group members!

Various Scriptures

To consider with your Life Group:

  • Take a few minutes to review the Scripture from 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:19-20, and 1 Peter 2:2. What verses or ideas stand out to you from these passages? What questions do you have? What would you like to remember and apply to your life?
  • What does it mean that the Bible was “breathed out” or “inspired” by God Himself? What does this NOT mean?
  • How trustworthy do you consider the Bible to be? What doubts or questions do you have? What resources are available to you?
  • When it comes to the Bible, what changes are you considering? How can you approach it with more frequency and urgency going forward?
  • Who are you praying for to trust Jesus in 2017? How will they hear about Jesus? Most people in our culture do not spend much time reading the Bible. Consider how your own pursuit of Jesus through the Bible can help other people (who might never read about Him in the Bible) find Jesus and put their trust in Him.
