God’s Will Is Not A Bullseye

What is God’s will for my life?
What does God want me to do?
How do I glorify God?
Those are all great questions; questions we should be asking ourselves as followers of Jesus. It really should be our desire to live in line with God’s will. The problem is, we often have a skewed view of God’s will.
We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God.
Colossians 1:9-10
Scripture doesn’t describe a single tightrope of God’s will, or a bullseye center of God’s will, rather we’re given strength and wisdom as followers of Christ to discern what is best. When approaching a decision in life, ask yourself these two questions:
Is it moral?
Is it wise?
And if the answer to both of those questions is yes, it’s your call!
In asking yourself these questions, you must always look to Scripture as the authority. It is in the Word that we receive wisdom. It is in the Word that God lays out the bounds of morality. It is in the Word that we find God’s will.
God’s will is not a bullseye.
