Idolatrous Hearts

What are the idols in your life? When the things in our lives – work, money, kids, community, relationships – all fight for the seat at the center of your life, you have to ask the question, “where’s God in all of this?” There are many things that fight for our attention in this world, but Scripture is clear that nothing in this world can bring you life. It may give you momentary joy and happiness, but life? It will always fall short. The Bible tells us that only Christ alone can sustain our lives, since He is the one who knows us in and out. So with that, we ask the Lord to take back His rightful place in our hearts and to usurp all other material things that fight for our affections.
