The Light Of The World

The Christmas story is one of happiness, joy, being merry, and festive. However, if we are to just focus on those dimensions of Christmas, we would be cheating ourselves of a critical side of this holiday. There is darkness in the world and the reason for us to rejoice during this time is because there was a savior who stepped into the world to destroy the darkness. God, moved by His love for His creation, was born into the world as a humble baby and lived a perfect life, only to die on the cross as a living sacrifice. It was because of the brokenness and sin of the world that caused Jesus Christ to do such an act. However, in the midst of the darkness and sin that plagues the world, we have a reason to be joyous and celebrate.
