Defending the Poor

One of the unfortunate effects of sin in our world is that it has created poverty in our societies. Not only physical poverty, but spiritual poverty as well. The reason why the Gospel of Jesus Christ is also known as the “Good News” is because for those in physical poverty, there is hope to be found through His Gospel. And for the entire world which suffers from spiritual poverty, the Gospel of Jesus Christ offers a hope everlasting as a solution. All throughout Jesus’ life and even in His death, the message of defending and fighting for those in poverty is proclaimed and in it, we are directed to do the same.
