The Mission

Noel Heikkinen

Colossians

As followers of Christ, our lives ought to be filled with prayer; yet we tend to seek out God only when when we’re suffering or when we don’t feel like His plan aligns with our plan. When is it that you find yourself coming to God in Prayer? Pastor Noel Jesse Heikkinen reminds us that we should constantly be on the lookout for opportunities to pray, and to scaffold those prayers with thankfulness regardless of our circumstances.

Unless I am convicted by scripture and plain reason – I do not accept the authority of the popes and councils, for they have contradicted each other – my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not recant anything for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. God help me. Amen.

Martin Luther

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.
Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

Colossians 4:2-6

You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you odd.
