We Don’t Know Everything
Hezekiah Trevino
1 Corinthians 9:19-23
We have all been stupid in our lives, but like to present as knowing more than we do. How do your ideologies and thoughts impact your interacting with others? Riv’s Pastoral Resident Hezekiah Trevino encourages us to accept that we don’t have all the answers because that forces us to trust in Jesus. We don’t have to know everything, because the Holy Spirit is our advocate.

We don’t know everything.
Although I am free from all and not anyone’s slave, I have made myself a slave to everyone, in order to win more people. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win Jews; to those under the law, like one under the law — though I myself am not under the law — to win those under the law. To those who are without the law, like one without the law — though I am not without God’s law but under the law of Christ — to win those without the law. To the weak I became weak, in order to win the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that I may by every possible means save some. Now I do all this because of the gospel, so that I may share in the blessings.
One of you says, “I belong to Paul,” or “I belong to Apollos,” or “I belong to Cephas,” or “I belong to Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in Paul’s name? I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, so that no one can say you were baptized in my name.
This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. They worship me in vain, teaching as doctrines human commands. ”
They teach what men have made up. – NLV

Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will convict the world about sin, righteousness, and judgment…
