Inspiration Of The Bible

Brad Kidder

In Scripture, it says, “All scripture is breathed out by God.” This means the Holy Bible is literally God’s words and is to be taken as such. If that is the case, then what does that mean for those who read it? Brad Kidder shares how the Holy Bible, being breathed out by God, shows God’s desire to save us from our sin and to ultimately reconcile us to Himself through Jesus Christ. Through the inerrant, God-inspired, and God-breathed text, we can trust that it is a genuine message of hope for those who read it.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

2 Timothy 3:16

knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation.

2 Peter 1:20

“The Bible, when correctly interpreted in light of the level to which culture and the means of communication had developed at the time it was written, and in view of the purposes for which it was given, is fully truthful in all that it affirms.”

– Millard Erickson

“The Bible is not a scientific book, it’s not a geography book, a geology book, an anthropology book or sociology book but inerrancy means that the Bible is truthful when it speaks to areas relating to science, geography, astronomy and history (for instance). The Bible was not written to have exhaustive knowledge in these areas – but it does truthfully point to historical people who lived in real geographical locations and understood things about science like the stars, the sun and the moon.”

– Pastor Steve Sommerlot

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

2 Timothy 3:16

that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:17

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

Ephesians 2:13

So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation.
