Sola Fide

James Granger

Romans 5:1-5

Whenever we face affliction, our faith and character are tested. How is God shaping you to become more like Jesus through the circumstances of this season? Pastor James Granger reminds us that the same God who has already poured out His peace, His grace, and His hope will continue to sustain us and grow us in endurance, character, and hope.

“But when, by the Spirit of God, I comprehended these words, when I learned how the sinner's justification proceeds from the pure mercy of the Lord by means of faith, then I felt myself revived like a new man, and entered at open doors into the very paradise of God. From that time, also, I beheld the precious sacred volume with new eyes.”
Martin Luther

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:1

We have also obtained access through him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we boast in the hope of the glory of God.
Romans 5:2

And not only that, but we also boast in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.
Romans 5:5-4

This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Romans 5:5

For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift— not from works, so that no one can boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9
