God Proves His Love

Noel Heikkinen

Romans 5:6-11

So often we don’t feel love because of our circumstances. How do you view your own life in light of what’s going on around you and inside you? Pastor Noel Jesse Heikkinen point us to the truth of God’s love as it exists over us in the past, present, and future. When God looks at you, He looks past the lies and facade you put on, down to your deepest darkest sins, and in you He sees Jesus.

For while we were still helpless, at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly. For rarely will someone die for a just person—though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die. But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. How much more then, since we have now been justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from wrath. For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, then how much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life. And not only that, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received this reconciliation.
Romans 5:6-11

An oracle within my heart
concerning the transgression of the wicked person:
Dread of God has no effect on him.
For with his flattering opinion of himself,
he does not discover and hate his iniquity.
The words from his mouth are malicious and deceptive;
he has stopped acting wisely and doing good.
Even on his bed he makes malicious plans.
He sets himself on a path that is not good,
and he does not reject evil.
Lord, your faithful love reaches to heaven,
your faithfulness to the clouds.
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,
your judgments like the deepest sea.
Lord, you preserve people and animals.
How priceless your faithful love is, God!
People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They are filled from the abundance of your house.
You let them drink from your refreshing stream.
For the wellspring of life is with you.
By means of your light we see light.
Spread your faithful love over those who know you,
and your righteousness over the upright in heart.
Do not let the foot of the arrogant come near me
or the hand of the wicked drive me away.
There! The evildoers have fallen.
They have been thrown down and cannot rise.
Psalm 36

The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
1 John 4:8

For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16

No one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:13

Justification: through Jesus, guilty people are declared innocent.

Reconciliation: Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection turns God's enemies into His friends.
