This is the message of faith that we proclaim: If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, Everyone who believes on him will not be put to shame, since there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, because the same Lord of all richly blesses all who call on him. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Romans 10:8-13
For he tells Moses, I will show mercy to whom I will show mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then, it does not depend on human will or effort but on God who shows mercy.
Romans 9:15-16
How, then, can they call on him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about him? And how can they hear without a preacher? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.
Romans 10:14-15

Sent → Go and Preach → Hear → Believe → Confess

So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.
Romans 10:17
Believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9
For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

How, then, can they call on him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about him? And how can they hear without a preacher? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news. But not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed our message? So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.
Romans 10:13-17

Think about a time in your life when you were sent on a mission. Who did the sending? How did they prepare you? What was the desired outcome?

Read Romans 10:8-9. How did you originally hear about Jesus? Who proclaimed the Gospel truth to you? What specific truth (or truths) from the Bible helped you develop the faith to believe?

Read Romans 10:14-15. What role do you see yourself playing in proclaiming Jesus to others? Who can you pray for? Who can you help send? How can you be a “beautiful feet” person, who brings the truth of Jesus to others? What person/people are you uniquely positioned to share the good news with?

In Romans 10:17 it says, “faith comes through hearing the Word of God.” On a scale of 1-10, how well do you feel you know the Bible? Do you have a plan for growing in your knowledge of the Bible, so you can better explain Jesus to others?
